Netolitzky on Pseudolaw in Canada

Donald Netolitzky (University of Alberta) has posted The Sun Only Shines on YouTube: The Marginal Presence of Pseudolaw in Canada on SSRN. Here is the abstract:

This chapter surveys the arrival in Canada of modern pseudo-law circa 2000, and the subsequent rise and collapse of a range of Canadian pseudo-law host communities.

Pseudo-law has never been successful in Canada, and historically has only been adopted in small and marginal groups, usually oriented around a key organising individual, commonly called ‘ gurus ’. Canada in that sense differs from United States pseudo-law communities, which are typically described as amorphous or leaderless.
