Deatherage on Regulation Technology

Philip Deatherage (Vermont Law School – Vermont Journal of Environmental Law) has posted Environmental Compliance Through Regulation Technology on SSRN.  Here is the abstract:

RegTech or regulation technology was born out of a need for compliance in the FinTech Industry, and while some may see RegTech as a branch of FinTech, many have recognized it now stands on its own as a separate field, that can be applied to many different areas of compliance with regulations, using technology.

I explore the possibilities of RegTech as a stand-alone field, and then explore how RegTech and EnviroTech can intersect; applying it to environmental compliance, permitting, and the EPA. Finally, I am proposing that RegTech should be adopted as Best Available Technology by agencies, including the EPA.
