Visiting Assistant Professor

Rutgers-Camden Law seeks one or two Visiting Assistant Professors for the 2009-2010 Academic Year.
Applications for one or two VAP positions are invited from law school graduates, as well as Ph.D. recipients or candidates in any field who have a sustained academic interest in law's interaction with their discipline. Applicants may be students in their final year of law school or the final stage of a doctoral program, recent graduates, or persons with several years of law practice experience.
Selection Criteria
This VAP position is intended to assist future legal academics, and thus, selection will be based not only on teaching ability but also scholarly promise.
Scholarship and Teaching
The VAP will teach one class per semester.
Curricular needs for 2009-2010 may include Property, Local Government, Administrative Law, Environmental Law, International Trade, and International Business Transactions.
The VAP will receive a research budget, and will have the opportunity to attend and participate in lectures, workshops, and conferences, as well as to present his/her own work. The VAP will also be assigned a faculty mentor to guide the VAP not only with teaching and scholarship but also with entering the academic market.
Compensation and Benefits
The VAP will receive a salary and full benefits, including health insurance. He/she will also receive a regular faculty office and administrative and secretarial support.
