There is an International Conference "E. Anscombe’s Intention and the renewal of moral psychology" to be held at Università della Santa Croce (Rome), 28-29 February 2008.
The publication of Intention (1957) and “Modern Moral Philosophy” (1958) constituted a turning point in the discussion of the basis of moral philosophy within the anglo-american tradition. A great number of papers, lectures and books have taken up the challenges of Anscombe’s writings: the meaning of moral responsibility, its relations with the moral law, the evolution of moral points of view and the role of virtues. In the last decades Anscombe’s contribution has permeated other traditions, and its presence in the Continental debate has enriched the revival of Aristotelian practical philosophy and philosophy of action in general. The conference aims at the evaluation and discussion of
Anscombe’s proposal.
